The San Gabriel Valley raised me, just as it will raise my son. Little League baseball, football in the street, Fridays at the theater, Saturdays at the mall. All day – every day – rocking my Vans. The SGV is home.
For over 20 years I have mentored thousands of students, led championship sports teams and dedicated my life to public service. As Mayor of West Covina, I have protected our working families by standing up to corporations, ensured our community remains inclusive of all residents and advocated for policies that advance environmental, racial and economic justice.
History has taught us that uncertain, transitional times like these provide opportunities for growth, but they require leaders with vision, work ethic and the willingness to engage in hard discussions in order to make tough decisions. These are the qualities I have always prided myself on bringing to my classroom and the sidelines. Join us today, and help me continue the work of creating a West Covina where everyone thrives!
